Short Term Trading requires patience

9/27/2007 I remember when I was first studying trading and I read somewhere a quote that went something like this - "When I was young i had all the time in the world and no patience, now i am older and have all the patience in the world but not enough time".

Those of you that know me know that i trade the SP 500 Emini and use day trading setups and patterns. Sometimes you have to just keep at it. Today the market continued a coiling pattern and I tried 2 breakout attempts with no success. This certainly can be frustrating looking to closely, but my experience tells me there is a larger move coming and to stay with it. The markets have a way of tiring you out just before a big move. Always remember to keep your eye on the ball and the calm is just before the storm. In short term trading sometimes you have to just keep swinging the bat and take the pitches when they come.
